Japanese iris (Iris ensata or kaempferi) have the largest flowers of all irises, some being about 30cm across. They have been bred for over 200 years in Japan and also during the last century in the USA. So today, there is a range of flower shapes and patterns, as well as a range of colours. The foliage is also an added benefit as it provides a vertical interest over a long period and is suited to both formal and informal settings...

Also known as Iris kaempheri. This bold and beautiful water iris is a stiking addition to any pond. The range of colors in our mix are dark blue, mottled blue, white and light blue. Plant in shallow water up to 3" over top of crown. Grow in full sun to part shade. Not for limey soils. Hardy in zone 4-9. Grows 2-3' in height. To propagate divide in spring after new growth has begun.
