Native prairie wildlfower, pretty common to find these plants growing wild out on the prairie. Is not really a 'grass', rather is a member of the Iris family. Quite an adaptable plant - have seen this growing in shady moist conditions on the edge of woods, and in very dry, hot, sunny locations in the Grasslands National Park. Grows 4" - 12" in height...

Also known as Iris kaempheri. This bold and beautiful water iris is a stiking addition to any pond. The range of colors in our mix are dark blue, mottled blue, white and light blue. Plant in shallow water up to 3" over top of crown. Grow in full sun to part shade. Not for limey soils. Hardy in zone 4-9. Grows 2-3' in height. To propagate divide in spring after new growth has begun.
